The charismatic megafauna and it’s frenetic activity
captures our attention while the micro-fauna and
flora of our urban environment is invisible to our
eyes. Microinteractions, microlandscapes and multiespecies coexist
beyond our senses.
The aim of the residency is to investigate invisible
connections between urban environments and
biodiversity, data mapping (biological samples,
signals), electronics and media. We will experiment
with organic matter and scientific
processes, in order to explore and question the anthropocene
manipulation of biological materials in our everyday
environment and our kitchens.
The proposal emphasizes on the possibilities of new
digital and electronic media and living organisms
around us by creating improbable connections
between scientific methodologies, DIY electronics
and contemporary artistic expressions.
